Our Mission:

The mission of the Galva Public Library is to provide educational, informational, cultural, and recreational resources and services to all ages of people in the Galva Public Library District.  The library will provide access to the universe of information, and especially that information which is of immediate relevance and interest to the community it serves.  The library seeks to accomplish its mission through prudent management and development of its resources, and by providing access to materials and services to meet the present and future needs of the community it serves.  In this effort, the Galva Public Library cooperates with other libraries, and with other educational and governmental institutions.  Special emphasis is places on current popular materials.  The library serves as a learning center and educational center for all residents of the community

How Do You Get A Library Card:

1. Complete a short, simple application and sign it.

2. Please bring proof of residency, and a photo I.D.

The card is free the first time, replacements for lost cards are $2.00. Children must be 5 years old to apply for their first library card.

Library Board Meeting Schedule 2018:

January 9th, February 13th, March 13th, April 10th, May 8th, June 12th, July 10th, August 14th, September 11th, October 9th, November 13th, and December 11th.

All Meetings begin at 7:00 p.m. at the Library and are open to the public. The agenda's of the meetings are: Call to order, Secretary's report, Treasurer's Report, Directors Report, New Business, Adjournment

The Library will be observing the following holidays in 2018:

January 1st, New Year's Day, February 19th, President's Day, March 30th Good Friday, March 31st Easter Holiday, May 28th Memorial Day, July 4th Independence Day, September 3rd Labor Day, November 12th Veteran's Day, November 22rd-24th Thanksgiving, We close at 5 p.m. from December 17th through the end of the month. December 24th Christmas Eve, December 25th Christmas, December 31st New Years Eve.
